Damn Gina, Cheeseburger Casserole
Monday, I competed with Patrice in the 7th annual Casserole Crazy Cook-off and we won!
Instead of researching recipes, we actually discussed what we wanted to make and Patrice made a sketch of the casserole.
The day of the event we go to Pathmark and buy all the ingredients.
- 2 cans of Pillsbury Grands Jr. Biscuit
- Family size package of ground beef
- 1 can of Tomato Paste
- 1 whole yellow onion
- 1 jar of Vlasic Kosher Dill pickles
- 1 jar of Ragu Cheese Sauce
- 2 packs of shredded Sargento Four Cheese
Also we use a glove of garlic and sesame seeds for the mini buns.
Instructions:
Brown the ground beef. To season the ground beef I added seasoning (salt, pepper, adobo) as well as mustard and horseradish.
Chopped the onions and sauteed them.

Strain the whole jar pickles and let them dry out.
Open one can of biscuits. Separate the layers of the biscuit in half and spread them on the bottom of a casserole dish.
Spread a layer of the cheese sauce and some of the shredded cheese.
Add about of third of the ground beef to layer on top.
Add a layer of cooked onions.
Spread the tomato paste on top.
Repeat the layer order again with the biscuits.
Add a layer off the pickles and the rest of the cheese of top.
Make little buns using the rest of the biscuit dough.
Sprinkle sesame seed on top fo the buns.
Put casserole in an oven that has been been set to 400 degrees.
Bake for twenty minutes.
